he's leaving today.
NEW YORK (AP) -- Fred Ebb, who wrote the lyrics for such hit Broadway musicals as "Chicago" and "Cabaret" as well as the big-city anthem "New York, New York," has died of a heart attack.
He was as prolific as he was talented. Ebb and his partner, John Kander, have created some of the great works in musical theatre and movies.
He will be missed.
