A Grrrreat Loss
I just learned, from perusing Mark Evanier's Site, that Thurl Ravenscroft (the voice of Tony the Tiger in the Kellogg's Frosted Flakes commercials) has died at the age of 91.
He may be best known for the tiger, but I will always remember him as the singer of You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch in the TV holiday classic, How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Somehow, his name was left out of the credits; and most people assumed that Boris Karloff was the singer.
If you go over to Mark's site, he can fill you in on many other of Mr. Ravenscroft's achievements. You can also go over to the All Thing Thurl site for even more credits and accomplishments. You will be amazed at all you can learn and listen to.
Not only was he an amazing talent, but he also has one of the coolest names I have ever heard.
Rest in peace, Thurl.
