Those Damn No Tax But Spend Republicans

This is not really the story that I wanted to read. The story I wanted to read about was the one behind this selfserving statement...

"It is time to move on," said Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tennessee. "The country demands that we complete action on this bill."

I want more details on the country's demands for this $373 billion budget bill. I want to hear about all of the bloated budgets for moronic studies and porkbarrel bribery that got put in this year's budget. Not that I think the Democrats are any more concerned about spending than the Republicans, but I would love for Bill Frist to be forced to back up this statement with proof and a lot of examples.

The Dems like to tax and spend, but the Republicans now seem to want to spend even if we don't have it... And I am not that fond of either solution. I'd rather spend some money on nongovernmental audits of each year's budget to cut some of the waste and stupidity out of it. There should be a commission of accountants pooled from every state that combs through each budget and recommends cuts in a C-SPAN covered event. Every politician and the President would have to come forward and explain the reasons for each item and defend the need for it. Would it slow down the work of congress and the government? That might not be such a bad thing.
