Tragedy Compounded

In an almost unbelievable communications error (that word doesn't seem to do justice to the magnitude of the mistake), the family members of the trapped West Virginia miners were told that 12 of the 13 had been found alive; and then told hours later that only 1 of them survived.

To go from fearful worry to unbridled euphoria and then fall to utter despair has got to create a mental/emotional whiplash of near crippling proportions. I felt gut-punched and I was only watching it unfold on CNN.

That it would take hours for the false information to be corrected is unforgivable.

My heart goes out to the families and friends of those men.
