John Spencer, one of my favorite actors, has passed away.
Years after L.A. Law ended, I always referred to him as Tommy Mulaney because of my fondness for the character as portrayed by Spencer. It was only after 3 years of West Wing that I finally began to refer to him as Leo McGarry. Why not just refer to him as John Spencer, you might ask? It was because Spencer was so good at becoming the characters he portrayed. With the West Wing coming to an end (so they say), I was eagerly looking forward to the next character John Spencer would breathe life into and make real for me.
One other thing I loved about him was his voice; it had such a warmly comforting lilt to it.
He will be sorely missed.
