Senator Ted "Ass Hat" Stevens

Let's just take a moment to salute the honorable Sen. Ted "Ass Hat" Stevens (R-AK).

Here are a few of his recent moments of greatness...

When former POW and torture victim John McCain, and former Judge Advocate General Lindsay Graham sought to add an amendment to prohibit the torture of military prisoners to the spending bill, Ted was offended...

Under those circumstances, I am appalled that the two senators would proceed this way. And I tell the senator from Virginia, our friendship is very close to the brink, very close to the brink, because I believe my job is to get this bill passed and get it passed as a bill we know we can go to conference on and get it done and be ready when we get back.

When Sen. Barbara Boxer tried to get oil executives to swear in before they testified before the Senate (like the baseball players, during the vitally important steroid hearing, were asked to do), Senator Ass Hat objected...

Alaska Republican Stevens, head of the Senate Commerce Committee, rejected calls by some Democrats to have the executives sworn in, saying the law already required them to tell the truth.

Let's not forget Sen. Ass Hat's tantrum when he thought the money earmarked for his "bridge to nowhere" might be used to aid Hurricane Katrina victims and the state of Louisiana...

Senator Ted Stevens (R - Alaska) reacted angrily when the Coburn introduced the amendment to the Senate floor. Stevens threatened to resign from the Senate if the bill with Coburn's amendment passed. He said during the floor debate, "I don't kid people. If the Senate decides to discriminate against our state and takes money only from our state, I'll resign from this body." At one point in the debate, Senator Stevens angrily shouted "No!" in response to a question he posed regarding if he would support Coburn's amendment.

A tip of the Ass Hat, to Ted Stevens.
