Michael Piller (1948-2005)

On Tuesday, Michael Piller lost his long battle with cancer. Best known for his long association with the Star Trek universe, Piller had a long and productive career in television. He co-created Deep Space Nine and Voyager for the franchise and also wrote and co-produced the ninth installment in the Trek movie series, Star Trek: Insurrection. More recently he co-created The Dead Zone for the USA network and Wildfire for ABC'S Family Channel with his son Shawn.
