If you visited here earlier, you got the chance to see my announcement that autumn would be starting tomorrow. It turned out that I had gotten my info from a cool website that listed all sorts of interesting stuff about each day of the year...Unfortunately, that year happened to be 1997.
D'oh!
Regardless of my lack of intelligence, I love autumn! They talk about the lazy days of summer, but I've always felt that things seem to slow down with summer's end. The leaves and the temps fall and the colors seem to fade to a more comfortable easygoing shade after the leaves' last riot of color. I feel content and comfortable basking in the melancholy glow of the winding down of the year.
I was correct in announcing that tomorrow was Checkers' Day, the anniversary of Richard Nixon's famous Checkers speech. It has since expanded into Dogs In Politics Day; the day to reflect upon the important role that dogs play in politics.
I was also correct about November 25th being National Comic Book Day.
And I still expect a card.
