American half-wits
I shouldn't be surprised that more than half of American's polled, do not blame Dumbya for the fatal negligence involved in the emergency response to the Gulf Coast's (especially Louisiana's) desperate hour(s) of need. His followers believe that his heart is in the right place, even if his competency is in doubt. He is far too important to get involved in the details of such immense undertakings. Besides, he did go down and actually hug poor people and showed the world what a compassionate conservative he is... that makes everything all right.
Here are the poll results...
Americans are broadly critical of government preparedness in the Hurricane Katrina disaster -- but far fewer take George W. Bush personally to task for the problems, and public anger about the response is less widespread than some critics would suggest," noted ABC News pollster Gary Langer yesterday.
According to an ABC/Washington Post poll of 501 adults taken Sept. 2, 44 percent said they blame Mr. Bush, but 55 percent said they did not.
The "most prevalent emotion" among the respondents was hope, the poll found, felt by 64 percent, and 55 percent were "shocked," while 45 percent were "angry" about the official response to Katrina.
For some strange reason, I thought Dumbya had something to do with hiring in his administration. Did I miss the something? How did someone with Mike Brown's credentials get a job as vitally important as Director of FEMA?
Another observation: When asked if the war on terror had weakened our response capabilities to disasters such as Katrina, Dumbya assured America that we could continue to wage war on Iraq while providing aid and assistance to Katrina's victims.
Yet, all of his minions warn us that investigating the massive failure of said response, cannot be done at this time because it could hamper the aid and rescue process. Can we multi-task or not? Which is it?
