Gone to those Green, Green Acres in the sky

Eddie Albert has passed away at the age of 99 (some reports say 97). Although he was best known for Green Acres, he was also nominated for Academy Awards as a supporting actor in Roman Holiday (1953) and The Heartbreak Kid (1972). He also played the warden in The Longest Yard (a remake opened at theatres this week). Here's something I'd never heard about him ...

According to Hollywood gossip, he was caught in a dalliance with the wife of Jack L. Warner and the studio boss removed him from a film and allowed him to languish under contract.

That sly devil! Read the rest of his obit; he had an interesting life.

RIP, Mr. Albert.
