They Said They Were Going To Use Them For The Nickel-Bags
Some of the 3.8 million nickels that disappeared last December turned up on a farm near Miami last week.
Narcotics officers, acting on a tip, were searching for marijauna plants when they stumbled across a cooler filled with nickels. The farmer led the police to more buried nickels and was arrested for plotting to cash in the nickels and wire the money to the missing truck driver. The driver, Angel Ricardo Mendoza has allegedly fled to Mexico or Cuba.
$45,000 (about 900,000) worth of nickels are still missing.
