This story has a happy ending, but the beginning sure seems sad.
Who lets their 5 year-old walk 2 blocks to a friend's house at 6PM in the evening...ALONE? This is beyond my scope of understanding. I realize that I am an overprotective parent, but I still find this to be the judgment of a dumbass of a parent. Amazingly, this is not touched upon in the article at all.
Is is just me?
