The 7 year-old son of 2 lesbians has been punished for telling a classmate that he had to mommies and that they were gay. This is so wrong on so many levels. The teacher sent him to the office because such things should be explained by parents. Exactly, and this gave the other child's parents the perfect opportunity to do so. Most parents aren't going to just bring it up one day...."So, Bobby, lets talk about homosexuality!" No. Little Bobby is going to come to them and tell them that someone told him that "gay" meant .... This gives the parents the chance to explain it and even pass on their tolerant or intolerant view of such things to their child, as they have every right to do. Punishing this boy is causing undo harm to him emotionally and is so very unconstitutional. Here's hoping that the school and the teacher apologize to the boy and his family and learn from their mistake. If not, I hope the ACLU takes them to task.
