I have never understood the US policy with Taiwan. We talk the talk about bringing freedom and democracy to those that seek it but do not always walk the walk with Taiwan. It is part of the Kiss China's Ass Policy that prevents us from overtly taking the side of Taiwan. This is the same policy that gives China favored nation status while refusing to lift embargoes on Cuba because they are small commies without nukes. I realize that this is a perfect example of me being an ultracrepidarian, and I welcome anyone who can make me see the sense in all of it.... other than big commie/small commie explaination.
