Scalia: As It Was, So Shall It Always Be!

WASHINGTON: Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia (link) ridiculed his court's recent ruling legalizing gay sex, telling an audience of conservative activists Thursday that the ruling ignores the Constitution in favor of a modern, liberal sensibility.

The ruling, Scalia said, "held to be a constitutional right what had been a criminal offense at the time of the founding and for nearly 200 years thereafter."

At the time of the founding, wives, children and slaves were considered property of the forefathers and could be treated with cruel disregard and worse. If only Antonin could have been around to stop all other social change, the country could be just as wonderful as the day it was founded.
